Job Purpose

Responsible for the actuarial modeling of Individual Retirement new business products.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Performing projections, analyze, summarize, and communicate results to management
  • Providing key metrics (NBV, IRR, STEC, EaR, etc.) with regard to proposed product designs through the use of actuarial models
  • Build new model methodologies/capabilities to evaluate new product features
  • Clearly document all model and assumptions changes and processes
  • Collaborating with various Finance teams regarding product development projects
  • Developing experience studies for assumption setting
  • Bachelor's degree & FSA (or near FSA) designation with 4+ years of actuarial experience
  • Strong understanding of actuarial principles and analysis.
  • Liability expertise and/or asset-liability modeling experience, especially regarding Annuity products
  • Exposure to leading actuarial projection systems, in particular GGY AXIS and MG-Hedge is preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, key metrics (US GAAP and/or IFRS)
  • Solid interpersonal/relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to research complex accounting issues independently and provide initial recommendations.
  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage either a process or a team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and direct the activities of others as needed.
  • Ability to review work of junior staff and provide clear feedback
