- Responsible for supporting the Senior Director, IT Quality Assurance department, in developing a coordinated strategy and plan to implement IT Quality Assurance error detection and error prevention programs and to promote a quality culture for IT.
- Participate in meetings with business and IT leadership designed to enlist their support for Total Quality initiatives in order enhance the success and adoption of these programs.
- Manage the detailed analysis and evaluation of the current error detection and error prevention states to identify quality gaps and the need for new metrics, standards, processes, and evaluation points to enhance overall quality performance.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget, at the appropriate level of functionality for the client.
- May compile and analyze complex data on current errors, test coverage or related matters and develop presentations outlining fact based findings and alternate solutions.
- Will have functional management responsibility for QE resources.
- May serve as a highly experienced technical QE resource with technical direction responsibility if functional management is not required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- 6+ years' experience
- Superior knowledge of software testing concepts and methodologies including automation test script building/execution and agile TDD/BDD and exploratory testing; basic knowledge of, and exposure to quality engineering principles
- Superior knowledge of, and experience with various software development life-cycles, languages, test service virtualization, latest testing technologies and techniques (e.g., traditional and agile)
- Superior interpersonal / relationship management skills, able to foster working relationships within the team, across IT and with business colleagues
- Strong knowledge of business and technology practices and trends
- Superior influencing, negotiation and elicitation skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable and flexible
- Technical and leadership experience in implementing test transformation initiatives resulting in a more streamlined, agile and efficient QA practice
- Several years of technical and leadership experience implementing test automation technologies and frameworks resulting in QA agility and efficiency
- Several years of technical and leadership experience driving and implementing the full spectrum of test engineering test levels within QA including platform upgrade testing
- Technical and leadership experience supporting the impacted LOB and other IT disciplines in the areas of automation and test service virtualization
- Several years' experience in the insurance or other financial services domains
- Several years' experience leading and managing FTEs, contractors, and on- and off-shore consultants
- Several years' testing experience of various platform applications and services
