Job Purpose
  • Be a key member of FMG LLC’s senior executive team to participate in decisions relating to strategic initiatives, provide advice and guidance as to implementation 
  • Manage and lead a dedicated team of professionals devoted to providing legal and compliance support for AXA Equitable Funds Management Group LLC’s (“FMG LLC”) proprietary mutual funds and an offshore fund complex
  • Provide legal advice and support to FMG LLC relating to strategic initiatives and ongoing legal and compliance related operations for the fund complex
  • Prepare, and coordinate preparation of documentation for all board and committee meetings of the fund complex and serve as Secretary to the mutual funds and their committees
  • Serve as primary contact to the Independent Trustees of the mutual fund complex
  • Serve as primary point person for all fund-related litigation and regulatory matters
  • Coordinate activities of outside counsel to the investment adviser, mutual funds, and independent trustees
  • As senior member of the Law Department, actively participate in Law Department initiatives, advise other business units and practice groups of pertinent regulatory changes or developments relating to investment advisers and investment companies.
  • Demonstrated substantive knowledge of the major federal securities acts (i.e., Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisors Act of 1940)
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with senior executives of the Company as well as members of the mutual fund board, and regulators
  • 15-20 years of experience with a minimum of 10 years in the Investment Company Act of 1940
  • JD, Admitted to the Bar
